Owner/Physiotherapist

Jessa Eng is a fully licensed physiotherapist and a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.  She is passionate about empowering her patients by educating them on their conditions/injuries and assisting them throughout their recovery process. Living and working in Anmore has been a lifelong dream to be amongst the hiking trails, swimming lakes and forests. It is the perfect setting to enjoy hobbies like running, playing basketball and you might even spot her in Sasamat Lake practicing her paddling on her surf board.

Having worked in busy private practice clinics seeing multiple clients at a time she wanted to create a different environment where sessions are 1-on-1. At Anmore Physio & Wellness you have private treatment rooms and undivided attention.

Jessa graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. She has worked in a variety of settings including the burns, trauma and plastics unit at VGH, orthopedic and stroke rehab wards in the hospital, outpatient clinics as well as several sports/orthopedic private practice clinics before starting her mobile physiotherapy business Balanced Life Mobile Therapy in 2010. Having also graduated with a Bachelors of Applied Science in Kinesiology at SFU Jessa has a strong background in the human body, sports, athletic performance, health and fitness as well as nutrition.  Continuing education is an important goal, she has taken several courses on sports taping, shoulder rehab, pelvis and lower back dysfunctions. Jessa has also completed her Acupuncture certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Her next focus will be studying Yoga Therapeutic Practices.

Jessa is not just a physiotherapist by profession, she has lived and breathed health, sport and recreation since an early age.  She originally worked with the City of Burnaby in the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services from 1997-2005.  Her roles included teaching sports in afterschool programs, running day camps, supervising the weight rooms, working as a personal trainer and also teaching seasonal courses such as core stability ball, get fit and ski fit classes at local recreation centers.  Jessa has also been a fitness programmer for several years at the high-end gym Bentall Centre Athletic Club in downtown Vancouver, and the sports trainer for the SFU Men’s Field Lacrosse and Burnaby Lakers Intermediate A Lacrosse teams.
